Clark-Shawnee welcomes Tony Boyer as the new Head Baseball Coach for the Shawnee Braves. Boyer brings a diverse background in both sports and education, along with a desire to see student-athletes thrive on the field, in the classroom, and after graduation.
“I am excited to get started building something strong with the Shawnee baseball program,” Boyer said. “My goal is to build an incredible program that produces phenomenal young men who are difference makers in their family, community, school, and on the baseball field.”
Boyer is entering his 18th year as a high school baseball coach with three years in Ohio and 14 years in South Carolina. Throughout his career, he has coached multiple teams to district and regional championships.
“My hope is that our student-athletes will take away skills that will build a strong foundation for each player that carries them to a well-deserved bright future,” he said. “One filled with passion for what they become and who they become for their families as they move through life, winning big as they go!”
In addition to baseball, Boyer has coached Varsity Football, Basketball, and Tennis. His professional background extends into the classroom with the majority of his career as a special education teacher, along with three years in building administration and one year as an Athletic Director.
Boyer’s love for baseball goes beyond high school coaching, stepping into leadership roles at the college level as well. He served three years as the Commissioner of the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate League, a college summer league based in Virginia Beach, and one year as Commissioner of the Puerto Rico Collegiate League.
The Shawnee Braves will host the Flora Invitational on March 27th at 5 pm, their first home game of the season. “I am already proud to be a Brave! Let's Go!”
